68 artists, 72 hours, 1 unique landscape – Tasmania’s Tarkine
In April 2015, 68 photographers, filmmakers, musicians and artists will journey into the Tarkine to document its wild, scenic beauty as never before – producing a stunning 30-minute documentary portrait of this threatened wilderness.
Curated by Dan Broun and the Bob Brown Foundation, Tarkine In Motion is a
multi-platform project that will culminate in a film & exhibition of art created in the heart of Tarkine, one of the last great wilderness areas on the planet.
With your support, this project will help protect the Tarkine by capturing, celebrating and sharing its unique landscapes with the world.
The
Bob Brown Foundation is campaigning to have 450,000 hectares of the Tarkine declared a national park and World Heritage Area so that future generations can enjoy the Tarkine’s outstanding natural and cultural heritage.

Stretch Goals
Tarkine in Motion was such a success on Pozible that we reached our funding goal very quickly, so we have stretched our goal. The more funds we raise for this project, the further we can share the fantastic body of work that will be created over 72 hours in the Tarkine wilderness. Sydney’s Head On Photo Festival has accepted The Bob Brown Foundation’s Tarkine in Motion exhibition, a gallery is booked and the premiere will be on 27 April in Sydney.
The Bob Brown Foundation is fundraising to pay for accommodation, transport and food for the artists while they are on location in the Tarkine wilderness.
Sixty eight filmmakers, photographers and artists are donating their time and skills, including spending 72 hours in the wilds of the Tarkine, to create the art for this project.
Our curator Dan Broun is donating his time to collate the artists’ work into a film and exhibition but there will be some additional post-production costs that will need to be funded.
Your donation at Pozible will go directly to funding the artists making Tarkine in Motion.

The Tarkine is a remote region on the west coast Tasmania. As Tasmania can see four seasons in one day, there may be wild weather and testing conditions for the artists or calm sunny days. This unpredictable weather means it will be crucial to have a supply of good food and the comfort of a base camp for the artists to recharge their batteries and themselves.
