Raising funds for the mixing, mastering and pressing of our sophomore EP, 'Spirit Down'

Background
When we started out as a band a little over 2 years ago, we were just 5 friends wanting to create something special by bringing our thoughts, imaginations and passions together. Surprise, surprise, we had no idea what we were doing! The outcome of our space cadet approach however was indeed something special. A unique sound and style which drew a far greater reception than we had ever imagined.

In 2014, we released our debut EP ‘is it right?’, which included 4 internationally received singles - 'Flight', 'Airhead' and 'Cirrhosis' and 'Lonely Arms'. The EP saw the band tour nationally twice, and garnered international airplay in the UK, USA, Italy, Greece, and Siberia (!). Our music has received hugely positive blog reviews from the likes of IndieShuffle, Hilly Dilly, Stereofox, Hype Machine, Pilerats, Happy, Sound Doctoring, Semplesize, PressPlayUK and more. In Australia, we have received recognition and airplay from Triple J, Triple J Unearthed, 4ZZZ, FBI, RTR and many other community radio stations.

Our drive to create and perform everyday comes down to the kind people that are right up the front at our shows, singing lyrics back at our faces, or those that show us that they have every single one of our songs on their iTunes playlist!! For this we are eternally grateful and wish to say a BIG THANK YOU!!!

Fundraising
We have been very fortunate that the music we have created has led to some amazing opportunities. We were recently selected to play at the Music Matters Festival in Singapore which will be held from 20-24 May 2015. This follows our recent tour of Australia in March this year to promote 'Molière' - the first single off our sophomore EP, 'Spirit Down' which was internationally premiered on Triple J by Richard Kingsmill earlier this year in February . We also have a five date Australian tour for the EP 'Spirit Down' with the dates to be announced soon.

Over the past 6 months we have been working with renowned Perth producer, Andy Lawson, on our 'Spirit Down' EP. We have finished writing and recording all 5 songs for the EP, and we are now at the stage of applying the finishing touches (e.g. mixing, mastering and pressing). As an independent artist, recording and touring to date has primarily been self-funded, which as you might imagine for full time musicians has more than depleted our financial resources! Therefore, we are seeking your support so that we can finalise the 'Spirit Down' EP and ensure that the final product is as good as it can be.

Our Man in Berlin have been consistently praised for unique methods of combining guitar music with electronica in an impressive live format, earning the band nominations for Best Band and Best Vocals (WA) at the 1st Annual AU Review Awards 2014 celebrating the best live music in Australia.

2014
January – National tour for our 'is it right?' EP’s first single 'Airhead' - featured on Triple J, overseas college radio, had 30,000 Soundcloud plays, and was well received in international blogs.



March – Our second single 'Flight' was released - over 40 000 Soundcloud plays, international blog love, featured on Triple J and SBS TV.



May – Launch of our debut, EP ‘Is it Right?’




June – National tour for our 'is it right?' EP. Headline shows in all states including Alhambra Lounge in Brisbane and Gasometer in Melbourne.

August – Third single 'Cirrhosis' is released - sweet reviews from three Triple J presenters, earned the band ‘Artist Spotlight’ and ‘Feature Playlist’ on Triple J Unearthed. Cirrhosis featured on Triple J including Richard Kingsmill’s segment ‘2014’.



September – Rottofest 2014 playing alongside Panama and Andy Bull.




November – WAM Fetival Sideshow supported by Singapore SWAM artist Inch Chua. Two nominations from inaugural AU Review Awards – Best Band and Best Vocals (WA).

December – ‘Flight’ and ‘Cirrhosis eligible for voting on Triple J Hottest 100.

2015
February – Release of 'Molière' single. Radio time with Richard Kingsmill and Dom Alessio on Triple J, international blog coverage from Hilly Dilly and more.



March – Tour for 'Molière' - Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

April – Announced on the line up for the prestigious Music Matters Festival (Singapore).

May – Announced on the State of the Art Festival line up (Birds of Tokyo, You Am I, Gareth Liddiard, Sable).

We are hoping to raise $5,000 through our Pozible campaign, which we will then put towards finalising our sophomore EP, 'Spirit Down' as follows:

Mixing and mastering - $2,500

Pressing and distribution - $2,500 (via Firestarter Distribution)

Having now written and recorded all 5 tracks for the 'Spirit Down' EP, we feel that the main challenges for this project are behind us. We anticipate completing the mixing, mastering and pressing of the EP in June this year, at which point we will officially release the 'Spirit Down' EP for sale - just ahead of our national tour in July.
