It's all Over - mr sterile Assembly
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's All Over! It is! Everywhere! It could go both ways but which will it?
It's All Over: Eleven songs of invisible histories, lives, and realities.
We, the mr sterile Assembly, the determined and middle-aged outsider punk duo from Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand have been mining minds and invisible story lines into a humble collection of songs. And as all good home craft goes, it gives a warm feeling to share with the world.
We have been diligently carving away slabs of sound for the last couple of years. Constantly chipping away at structure and intent, to see what new collection of songs we might find. And find them we have, eleven in total, pared down, sparse and persistent. They sit nicely in your hand and buoyantly in the ear, and yes, we think it is time to share them.
Again, we have booked Munki Studio, and engineer Mike Gibson, to be the driving force behind the containing of these tunes. Mike did a grand job on Transit (our last album), and we think returning to the studio in the old spy hideout is a nice way to pass the time for several days in early July. We anticipate mixing and mastering will follow shortly after. There is some anticipation of swift completion due to the studio getting demolished! Laggards we shall not be!
This 1st part of the project we have funded this ourselves.
It is in this second step that we seek your support, contribution and confidence to help us complete the physical production of It's All Over, our 5th album.
We like our albums to look and feel beautiful, to be engaging and interesting to return to. We feel that presentation in integral to the integrity of the story-telling - that what you get in your hands adds extra information to the body of the work - a download is ok - it carries certain data, but the full deal is greater than the sum of the individual parts.
So we want to utilise, once again, the fine services of the Australian duplication service Cardboard Robot Creative (for our money, one of the nicest and most supportive services around!). We have always been happy with the high quality of their product - our beautiful Transit CD package is testament to their care and attention to detail. And so this is the focus of our crowd sourcing and we'd like YOU to be involved!
We will, of course, reward you. Gifts includes the audio or physical final album, getting the stitched patches on the uniforms, tasty representations from our hands, even one-off artworks and lead-light creations. These are unique and limited items and we hope their allure combined with your confidence in us will entice you to support this project.
With massive thanks
Chrissie & mr sterile
How The Funds Will Be Used
We complete the album to the best we can we require a minimum of $2850.
This predominantly pays for duplication, in full color, of the disc, the paper parts and covers, freight and customs costs. Should the dollars exceed our goal and continue to grow northwards, we shall funnel back into production, promotion, or maybe some other special items to share. There's always the potential for grand schemes to grow more grandiose.
The Challenges
We have now a long track record of planning to do daft and adventurous things, and succeeding. Should we fall short of funds we will endevour to find alternate means to release these songs. We are confident in the quality of the work, one way or the other, it will be released.
