SO WHAT IS THIS?

Remember Enamel Pins? The old rotary clubs always had them for patrons to wear proudly. Nurses also wore them as well as soldiers, politicians and military. They date back as far as the 13th C. (Wow) But enough about the past.
Let’s talk about Enamel Pins now. They’re rad. And when mixed with illustration, they’re even radder. Radish.


SO AMY, WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA?

I recently ordered 100 Hard Enamel pins of the fabulous Bill Murray. I am close to selling out and am now addicted to seeing my illustrations magically turn into these pins!


The idea for the Bill pin started when following an infographic brief from my Data Visualisation class at uni. I decided to do his Top 30 movie roles in portrait form and this is where the Hard Enamel Pin comes to play.


(On a side note, you can obtain this Top 30, A5 poster in the Gold Class edition)

After much deliberation, Steve Zissou jumped out as the best choice and the first 100 pins were ordered.

When I received the pins in the mail I opened the box, my heart pounding and inside were 100 beautifully colourfulBill Murrays, set in gold plated hard enamel. They were perfect. I was instantly in love and knew then and there, that I would create a million more pins.


PITCH ME!

So this is where my pitch begins.
I want to reorder 100 more Bill Murray pins with the same awesome company Metro Pins.

The process of making the pins is really fun. 
I draw a portrait.
Metro pins mocks up the illustration to pin form.
Metro Pins creates magic and a beautiful point is born!


I also want to create 5 new pins.
I have deliberated long and hard about who the lucky five should be and found myself back in the 1990’s. Yes!

I will begin the unveiling on a sad note with Robin Williams in his hilarious role as Mrs Doubtfire. He was the dad of the 90’s, who is sorely missed by many.

Don’t be a Cry Baby. The baby faced Johnny Depp as Wade Walker. (Technically the 80’s, I know)


+ WHOOPI GOLDBERG %20

If Robin is the 90’s dad, then Whoopi Goldberg is the 90’s mum.
I had to do Sister Act - because, you know.

Another classic 90’s icon, Drew Barrymore as Casey Becker in Scream.

And last but not least the soul inspiring billionaire, Oprah Winfrey.
Don’t lie. You miss her.

The initial $2000 will cover the expense of Metro Pins making the product.
I am ordering the 1" inch gold, Hard Enamel Pins with a Butterfly clutch and starting off with 100 of each design.

This will help with printing costs. Those Gold Class Editions use a lot of ink with the A5 Full Colour poster and the 10 colour illustrated stickers.

There's a whole lot of papers and envelopes, glue and adhesive tapes, blades and cutting mats, cello bags and sticker paper.
