HI THERE!

Calling any film enthusiasts and just all round awesome people: we need your help to make our film, Granite Hills.

We're currently in pre-production, and begin shooting at the beginning of May. It will be a four day intensive shoot on location out in the Highlands.

GRANITE WHAT???

Granite Hills tells the story of Dane, a disaffected youth forced to confront his sexuality on a sheep station in rural Victoria.While there he begins to develop feelings for his co-worker, a young farm hand named Fearghus. As their friendship develops, Dane becomes conflicted about his own sexuality. Simultaneously to this, Dane attracts the extreme attention and affection of the farm owner’s 16-year-old daughter Lyla. Conflict arises as the triangle emerges, all made worse by the overbearing and aggressive nature of the farm owner, Joel.

As you can imagine… it gets intense.

The film will be around 8 minutes and will be entered into local film festivals.

WHAT'S  IT REALLY ABOUT?

The film explores the perseverance of the youth of today to do whatever they feel is right for them, regardless of the conservatism which attempts to oppress them. It’s that desperate need to feel alive and be passionate that stimulates the younger characters of the film. Granite Hills also portrays the reality of an individual unable to adapt to change, and how detrimental this can be.

WHERE'S YO' MONEY??

Our funding goal is $2000. Seems a bit steep? Believe it or not, we need all the funds we can get since we are embarking on quite an ambitious project. We are shooting on 16mm film stock, which, while looking fabulously delicious, is quite expensive. We then need to get all the footage processed and colour graded. We’ll also need to get some props and costumes, and feed all those hungry actors and crewmembers, let alone get them up to our location. The major crew roles of the film will also be funding the project, but being struggling students we need your help too!
