THE PROJECT



INTERNET DATING FOUR DUMMIES is a romantic comedy novel based on the film screenplay of the same name. 

Completed on April 1st 2013 (Of all the days!) it is now ready for general human consumption. All cover artwork is completed and, as i write, final editing is happening for it to be printed into a paperback and to be downloaded via IPhone, IPad and PDF formats.

           

SYNOPSIS 


College geeks Ravi Ali, an IT major from Pakistan, and Will Jackson, a Business Marketing major, join forces to complete a practical exam: Build and promote a functional web site and get a thousand hits to pass. Their creation is LuvInc.com, a singles dating site with a host of first class member’s benefits they don't have a right to be promoting to anyone!

To dispel users from actually joining and using their creation they apply an outrageous $500 membership joining fee anticipating this will drive them away once they’ve had a look. But to their amazement the over-the-top joining fee combined with the extraordinary member benefits have a reverse-psychology affect which backfires when . . .


Champion female martial artist Nicky Kross, joins Luv Inc to attract male one-night stands so she can practice her new fighting techniques on them. Will any of her contenders actually get ‘lucky’ or just ‘laid-out?’


John is a ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ dad to crafty teen Alexandra. Sick of not having a mother figure, Alex steals John’s credit card and a photo of him and joins Luv Inc as John_007. After schmoozing a target to a first encounter she must convince her dad to accept the date at the risk of being grounded for the rest her teenage life!


Overweight thirty-something Rene puts an ad in the paper looking for a much younger male flat mate. Her only success is with Derrick, a gay personal trainer recently arrived from Sydney. Will Rene’s babe again body cause Derrick to jump the gender fence, or will Luv Inc come to the rescue for both of them?


Will and Ravi’s College Dean Mr. Chester, breaks all the rules by posting a free profile on Luv Inc. Like magic he gets hit-on from numerous mature women looking for steamy, no questions asked good times. Does Chester have the courage to see it through, or will his wheelchair bound wife find out his dirty little secret?

         


WHY POZIBLE?



As a first-time self-publisher you have to ask yourself some big questions before you go to print. The prime is 'How many books should I print and how much should I spend?' Secondly, as this is an Australian based story, I wanted both my first audience and the printing job to be kept home base. This last factor also insures printing and editing quality to the very best final product.    


A Pozible campaign is a brilliant way to hit the paperback market running. Plus, if all first run copies and singed and numbered and the book really takes off OS, who knows, the purchaser might have a very collectable item that will only go up in value. Also with the multi copy option, this is a brilliant way to organise friends, book club members and fellow writers for a face-to-face meet and greet and receive personal feedback on my creation. 


Your paperback pledge will go directly to printing, mail and service fees while the PDF, IPhone pledges will be used to market the OS Amazon pre-launch. This projects long-term overall goal is to sell enough e-books and novels the world over to produce the feature film. To my knowledge this is an Australian writer/producer 'first.' 


There is an abundance of brilliant filmmaking talent in Australia but the best usually head OS to pursue their careers. In my opinion what our industry often lacks is marketable, cutting-edge scripts/stories/characters that can attract a world audience. Statistics prove that 90% of first time Australian feature directors/producers only make one film due to poor script quality and/or lack successful marketing. Therefore they naturally fail financially. By building a local and global reader's market first, it offers Internet Dating Four Dummies the feature film a potentially 'bankable' audience, already invested in the characters and story. Make sense?
