About the Project
A 'road movie' style documentary about an Australian percussionists soulful journey into the Rhythmic East to find the roots of his musical inspiration.

Synopsis
After The Reefers Middle Eastern surf band i was playing in broke up i needed to do something that would challenge me, inspire me and also contribute to my musicianship. I started to plan a four month  journey that would take me overland through Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey and around to Greece. Before leaving i had no idea how a trip like this would change me as a person and percussionist. I left with only two contacts, an open itinerary and a film crew of two friends; Pin Rada (Sound/Camera) and Issac Mathis (Camera). 
Traveling in such a way requires you to open your senses, drop your guard and a keen eye for opportunity. What resulted was the journey into The Rhythmic East; A four month journey that would ultimately take four years to complete.
The film features a huge array of musicians including Levent Yildirim, Selim Sesler Roma band, Mazaher ensemble and extra sound-score by The Ambients, Rising Tide,  Zac Brennan and Matt Stonehouse.



Post Production
The Rhythmic East is a 49 min feature documentary. The post production is almost complete.
Edited by Mariona Guiu and with post sound production by Pin Rada all that remains is the final colour treatment, a trailer, website and a release!

Budget
As many of you already know, this has been a four year, mostly self funded journey for me. It has thus far been fueled by passion and is almost ready to screen.

Your muchly appreciated help will go towards the following 'bare bones' budget:

$1000  Final colour correction
$500   Film trailer
$500   Promotional website
$500   Promotional graphic design
$350   Final credits/ animation
$2850 total

Stretch goal
If the Pozible campaign is more than 100% successful the extra finances will assist in more time spent on all of the above, promotions to film festivals and the July 2013 film release here in Melbourne.
So whilst the bare minimum budget target has been set at $2850 please don't stop there!

Remember, Pozible is 'all or nothing' crowd funding: If i don't reach my target you don't pay anything and i don't receive a cent!

Film Release date
