Kids these days know a fair bit about the many damaging effects humans are having on our environment. After all, they’ve grown up with it. But our next generation will need to be smarter and more aware when it comes to the environment. They’ll need a firm understanding of environmental effects on the planet we call home. 

The great thing is – we believe that kids can lead the charge. We just have to hand them the right tools.

Sustainability Aware presents kids with information about our current way of life and the choices we can make to live more sustainably. The series sets out to nurture a sense of ownership children feel towards the world they live in. We hope to help each young reader realise that even the smallest actions can make a difference to our planet.

The books present the issues in engaging, straightforward language, making them accessible to young readers. With lively design and entertaining content, these books transform tricky scientific topics into something students can easily grasp. And from the outset, we had a desire to make taking the sustainable path fun, appealing and achievable. So each book is full of interesting facts and entertaining real-world applications that bring the topic to life.

All titles will be released in eBook and print editions. eBooks will initially be available for iPad, but we can send you a PDF if you prefer. The books are due for completion in November 2013. 

We need your support

We are passionate about doing what we can for the planet and we would be honoured to have your support. So far, the project has been entirely self-funded. And now, it just needs a little push to help get it over the line. 

You can also help us out by letting you friends, family, schools and teachers know about our campaign. 

What will the money be used for?

Your contribution will go towards editorial, proofreading and photography costs. $15,000 is the minimum required to finish production of the books, ready to be printed and released.

If we manage to reach $25,000, these additional funds will go towards production of teacher materials (for writing, editorial and digital development) which will help make the books even more accessible and classroom friendly.

Anything beyond that would be used to fund further development of the digital component for each title. This would increase the interactivity and multimedia potential of each eBook and engage kids even further.
