the dream makers
This show makes great composers human by bringing their work alive with our most human performers - clowns.
'the dream makers' is a new collaboration fusing two incredible art forms - physical theatre and classical music - for the first time.
You will experience the madness and drama of musical personalities such as Mozart and Beethoven as they are brought to life through mime, comedy, dance and aerial acrobatics, together with a live orchestra. Clowns in plain clothes will be amongst the crowd ricocheting stories in dynamic style, a toast to the foibles of these innovative minds.
Be ready to discover the one thing that unites the hearts of these dream makers - these clowns, geniuses, musicians - and ourselves.

It features an accomplished cast, including:
Skye Gellmann (Best Circus Adelaide Fringe 2011), Malia Walsh (4 Stars Edinburgh Festival), Paul O’Keeffe (Circus Oz), Henna Kaikula (Cirkus Cirkör, Cantina), Avan Whaite (Stalker, Strange Fruit).

For the first stage of this development, the Director, Amy Gibson will go to Europe to research, study and to start the character creation. She will meet with Nola Rae MBE over a 3 week collaboration, to discover ways of bringing these personalities to life.
Funding is needed for this part of the process and for preparation for rehearsals with the artists in the following year. If you find this work to be something of interest then please become a part of the Stage 1 Development by donating towards the costs involved. The $8000 is part of a budget of $19000. The budget covers 2 month skills development, 3 week collaboration, artist fees, travel and accommodation expenses. I have also applied for money through various funding bodies, one of which is confirmed and I&%2339;m contributing $2000 to the project myself. Due to the international aspect of the project, I have found it difficult to find funding bodies that will contribute a substantial amount.
All contributors will become part of a group that will be updated along the way and invited to a private rehearsal to meet with the cast towards the end of the creative development process.
In an unprecedented collaboration between circus artists and classical musicians, five great composers, five giants of the classical era, will be brought to life on stage. Previously distant and unapproachable, these composers, these men, will be re-introduced to the audience in a new and intimate way. What happens when a clown attempts to become a man who has been revered all over the world for centuries?
