For three decades, the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra has been providing opportunity and inspiration to some of Australia’s most outstanding young jazz musicians, and now it’s time to celebrate!

This September, in addition to showcasing the remarkable talents of our three current big bands, WAYJO will bring together an unprecedented, unforgettable line-up of our most outstanding alumni.

From Perth to New York, Singapore, London and Edinburgh, WAYJO alumni are achieving great things. And when you consider that our past members include Jamie Oehlers, Graham Wood, Carl Mackey, Lee Buddle, Tom O’Halloran, Adrian Kelly, Linda Oh, Mat Jodrell, Troy Roberts, Graeme Blevins, and Libby Hammer (to name but a few) the possibilities become very exciting indeed . . .

The concert will feature more than seventy of the most gifted established and emerging Australian jazz artists of the past 30 years, and is sure to be a landmark event. Not only will it provide Perth audiences with an unforgettable night of exceptional music, it will help WAYJO continue its mission to provide opportunity and inspiration to the next generation of outstanding Australian jazz musicians.

We currently have enough funds to put on a great show with our three WAYJO Big Bands and local alumni. The money raised through this campaign will go towards travel and accommodation expenses associated with bringing back some of our internationally based, talented Alumni to take part in the performance.
