A Feat Incomplete
The Next Step in the Journey...
A Feat Incomplete is a new Australian work by Erica J Brennan and David Buckley. It has been put through rigorous development for over 18 months, including:
* the original concept and development of the script through the 6-month Artslab program at Shopfront Contemporary Arts in 2011
* numerous reincarnations and developments of the ideas and characters throughout 2012 including performances at Tamarama Rock Surfer's Cut & Paste and stagejuice's 'Where will freshly squeezed land?'
* a week long script development residency with TRS in January 2013
* a moved reading of the script in May 2013
In August we launch our debut season of work at the Old 505 Theatre. We are crazy excited about this and can't wait to show it.
We are asking for our audience, both current and potential, to help us make 'A Feat Incomplete' the best it can be by pledging money that will go towards production costs. This will help us make an impact during our season at the Old 505 and beyond as we look to take this work nationally in the 12 months that follow.
If you like what you see below or in our video, consider being swayed to a larger amount by one of our beautiful perks or rewards. Even if you can't pledge you can still help us by sharing this campaign with your friends and networks, which will make a huge difference.

Where is the money going?
Money raised will go towards materials and collateral we need to give this work a life beyond its opening season. What we are asking for:
500 for Set - We'll be working heavily with our set designer to create a set that is not only beautiful and creative enough to tell the story, but also one that is durable and lightweight enough to tour on the road with us.
300 for Props and Costume - We keep warning people 'we're very silly with our words'. Well, there's actually a stage description that says "She pulls out a part of Oliver". As in body part. So, yeah. We'll need that.
200 for Lights and Sound - You can't tell a story about two non-characters never quite meeting in the darkness without quality lights and sound.
400 for Photography and Video - We're looking to capture high quality footage and production stills of the debut season in August - an all-important support and selling tool when approaching funding and performance institutions.
Total - 1400
All other budget items for A Feat Incomplete (excluding the artist fees) are collateral we believe to be specific to the season at the Old 505 and, as such, are covered by David and Erica's own contribution.

Any amount raised over our current target will be put towards the artists and designers fees so it more accurately represents the time and energy they are committing to the project.
3X Artists Fees (2 Actors + Director) @ $500 pw X 4 weeks rehearsal = $6000 (In kind/ profit share)
3X Designer fee @ $500 = 1500 (In kind)
David and Erica have lovingly and carefully cultivated this piece through over a thousand hours of development. It is a unique and vital piece of Australian work that challenges relationships with the people we are most intimate with, puts our longing for completion under the microscope and is now ready to be witnessed. Our work in the creation of this exciting new theatrical piece is done, and done well. The next step is to gain some financial support to kick start the next step of the journey. That is where this campaign comes in.
What Is A Feat Incomplete About?

A magical horned woman is searching for her identity where she shouldn't be. Her privacy is shattered, talking fungi sprouts and she is distractted from her gentle questing. A mysterious other, a man, exchanges sweet nothings with her as she struggles to confine her reality to simple stories, unravelling language and destroying meaning in an attempt to communicate. A Feat Incomplete both embraces storytelling as a beautiful human tool for connection and challenges us to let go of any meaning-making and discover what is beyond.
A Feat Incomplete has been created in the heart of Sydney independent theatre scene. In the hands of Erica J Brennan and David Buckley this new work is an absolute explosion of fantasy, quirk and heart, a vital piece to see this year.
It's all ready to go out and delight audiences, with a bit of help.
To track the creation of the work from it's beginning in 2011, visit Erica's ArtsLab Blog or check out her webpage.
