This simply amazing Pozible is to raise $2500 for Miranda's travel expenses to perform in 'The Gaza Strip Show' in Tel Aviv this September. The Gaza Strip Show is a political musical fable where Lily, a young girl, falls like Alice down a hole and finds herself inside one of Gaza's infamous tunnels controlled by the conniving and war profiteering Madame. On her subterranean journey Lily confronts the paradoxical and surreal inhabitants of one of the world's most highly disputed places, The Gaza Strip.

Created and developed by the talented Israeli / Australian artist Sivan Gabrielovich, this is truly an international cast comprised of Israelis, Brits and Australians. I was lucky enough to be in Israel for the development last year (you can read about my experiences on my blog - http://jumpingaroundtheloungeroom.blogspot.com.au/) and am now seeking your support so that I can go over finish the job. After a six week development we will debut the work in a two week run in Tel Aviv late September. After its debut in Israel the show will be seeking a London and Melbourne run after which hopefully more international performance opportunities will open up.

Your support will help me pay for my plane ticket which costs $2500. My accommodation and per diems are also extra costs as well, so all your help is much appreciated!

Why is this project so important? 'The Gaza Strip Show' has a voice unlike any we have heard before, one not often heard in the West. It's a voice that has been drowned out over the years by those holding extreme positions who so often get their hands on really loud microphones. It's a voice that is personal, political and painfully humorous, probing the complexities of the conflict between modern Israel and Palestine. My role in this performance is to examine the prism through which the West views and consumes this conflict.

Here are some photos from the creative development in July 2012.

Sivan has also worked as an artist in Australia for over 11 years before returning to Israel, her work is challenging, humorous and always politically challenging - http://www.running-blind.moonfruit.com/#
