Science Revue 2013 Presents: HOW WE BUILT A TIME MACHINE AND RUINED EVERYTHING

Science Revue is a student-run production at the University of Sydney. The show features comedy sketches, songs, and dances, directed and choreographed by students. We provide opportunities for students to enrich their university life by developing their creative sides and showing off their performance skills.

Every year we donate money towards the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which provides support and services to Australians with cystic fibrosis, as well as their carers and families. To keep the show going, each year we put aside a small amount of our profits to give next year’s team a head-start. Almost all of our money is earned through ticket sales, which comes in after the show finishes. Because of this, we need to raise money in the months leading up to our premiere. This is where you come in!

We’re offering a whole host of fantastic rewards to our wonderful contributors. This includes everything from our undying gratitude, to signed posters, to a backstage tour, where you’ll get to meet the stars of our show and experience their undying gratitude in person. This year’s show is titled “How We Built a Time Machine and Ruined Everything” and will be performed at the Seymour Centre on September 12th-14th. Our cast have been working extremely hard during the year in order to get our show looking as fantastic and hilarious as pozible. We are also supported by the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney and Kopystop Digital Printing Solutions in Ultimo.

As a student-run production, we do not have major financial backing. We rely entirely on the generosity of the University of Sydney Union, the University of Sydney Faculty of Science, and fundraising events (e.g. bake sales) and donations from friends of the Society. In addition, at the end of each year, we donate any money that we haven't used for the show or society to Cystic Fibrosis, a charity which is close to the society's heart. Because of our donation to Cystic Fibrosis, any of our money made this year does not carry on to next year. All money raised and provided to the society goes toward the show and wellbeing of the members; no individual makes any personal profit.
