A WALK IN THE DARK is a collection of diverse, visceral and challenging works by six emerging Australian theatre makers. Audience members can expect to follow a 12-year-old through Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s famous novella, zoom-in on the textures of the human body, journey to the darkest regions of the web, experience the transience of memory and theatre, and immerse themselves in the Norse myth of Ragnarok, in this premiere season of Civic Life, Shopfront’s new annual artist residency program.

The Challenges
If the fundraising target is not reached, Shopfront Contemporary Arts and Performance's Civic Life Program will run at a loss. Our biggest obstacle is ensuring that A WALK IN THE DARK is conducted in a safe and smooth manner, ensuring that the integrity of the 5 new works is maintained. Without your generous support, the budgeted costs of a Production Manager and Production Materials & Equipment will fall upon Shopfront, which may compromise its ability to run Civic Life Residencies in the future. Shopfront is a not-for-profit that conducts various outreach programs in the local community, as well as providing invaluable opportunities for young and emerging artists.
