What is the 100+ Club?
The 100+ Club is a club exclusively for people who have reached the age of 100 years. This club was started in 1993 and is constantly growing and improving. The 100+ Club aims to bring centenarians together at different events so that they may socialise with someone their own age and share their memories and stories!The club is completely unfunded but is managed by QCCN staff who donate their time to source centenarians, write the Centenarian newsletter and organise events for the 
centenarians to attend. Despite this, there are no joining or membership fees, nor is there any financial cost for centenarians to attend the 100+ Club’s annual events. Membership cannot be bought. The only way a person can join is to have reached the age of 100 years.

Members receive a certificate of membership as well as an exclusive member’s badge to wear at special occasions, or even every day. A few of the ladies in the club have even chosen to turn their badges into necklaces to wear every day. Members also receive a subscription to the club’s newsletter, ‘Centenarian’ and invitations to special 100+ Club events.The club has annual social events, exclusively for 100+ Club members and their carers. The Lord Mayor of Brisbane hosts a mid-year social event and Christmas time is celebrated at a luncheon with the Club’s patron the Premier of Queensland. Functions are organised for other regions when possible, depending on centenarian numbers and availability. Funding would greatly help the 100+ Club expand into other

Recently, the 100+ Club has played host to a group of documentarians. Many members have been filmed and interviewed for a documentary on the 100+ Club, filmed and produced by The Flick Chicks. The 100+ Club Book
The idea of creating and publishing a book to celebrate the lives of the 100+ Club Members has been discussed since the club first started in 1993. The book will serve as recognition for the centenarians,recognition and publicity for the 100+ Club as well as providing much needed funds to help the 100+ Club expand their services to other areas.To make the book, staff from QCCN visited a number of centenarians and interviewed them asking them about their life and experiences for the past 100 years. The book covers many topics including growing up, family life, war, technology and many more. The book asks members how life has changed in the last century and shows an interesting perspective of people who have experienced the changes first hand.
How will the money be spent?
100% of profits made from the sale of the 100+ Club book will be given to the 100+ Club and will be used to expand the club outside of Queensland.
