Hi!  I'm Robyn, but on the roller derby track I'm known as Tricksey Belt'em.  I live in Adelaide and play in the Adelaide Roller Derby League for The Road Train Rollers.  I also play for Adelaide (the Adeladies) and have just been selected to represent Australia in the World Cup, to be held in Toronto, Canada in December.

I've been playing roller derby for two years and it has changed my life.  Never before have I been part of such a tight-knit community and had such an amazing fun time.  Roller derby is a full contact sport played by women on roller skates (not roller blades!) on an oval track.  The objective of the game is to score points, and there is a lot of rough action in between!  It's incredibly inclusive and welcoming to women of all shapes, sizes and sporting backgrounds.

I thoroughly enjoy playing for the Rollers and the Adeladies, but it has always been my dream to play in the green and gold.  In addition to the honour of representing my nation, I'm so excited about the possibility of meeting new people, learning new skills and making more derby connections in this phenomenal worldwide community.  Naturally, the writer in me will record all of this in my blog, facebook and twitter, so that my friends, family and pozible supporters can follow my journey and each of the stories I accrue along the way!

I'm super keen to go and so honoured to be representing my country, but it will cost me about $3,500, for airfares, accomodation, food and travel whilst in canada.  I am also currently starting my small business, so this kind of money is a stretch for me.

I am trying to raise one thousand dollars to help me with my plane tickets, as they are the most expensive part of the trip, and I am incredibly appreciative of any help I receive.
