Simone & Girlfunkle is three-part girl harmonies and jangly bits from a distant coastal oasis. (Perth WA -it's an oasis to us) We want to take our music to another level and attach beautiful and carefully chosen images to it. We have never had the cash (and teehee still don't at this point) to do a proper videoclip before but we are hoping with luck, help from our friends and loving strangers who love and support independent music, it's something that can happen.
We have assembled a group of film-makers that hail from all over the world. We have our UK Director Nat who has worked in British TV and Film as an Actor and Producer, who is now spanning her career to little Perth where she now lives. Also we have Stevie, our Cinematographer, who has worked in Perth and Sydney with IMDB credits as a DOP & Cinematographer on numerous short films. Both these talented people are putting their time and effort into this project for free because they believe they can create something beautiful and lasting for our music and something that is rewarding itself as a piece of art.
Our new EP destined for a February release is sounding just as we hoped it would. It's the best we could have done and some. We would love to share it with you as well as many other unique rewards for putting your faith in our project.
Our goal through Pozible is to raise $3500 to cover the production costs of the music video. This will help with the hire of art department, costume, makeup, camera hire, lighting equipment, lens hire and other camera accessories that I can’t even imagine at this time because of their technical nature. If we can raise any extra money in the pot we can help our music and video reach the appropriate markets nationally. If we can raise any extra on top of that we can press our EP to vinyl and create something beautiful that people can hold in their hands and sniff but right now we would welcome anything at all.
$3500 is a small percentage of the overall budget for release. We have already put in all our own cash towards the project, sold some things that were dear to us and spent all the gig revenue on recording, mixing, mastering, promotional materials, and artwork. The music video is the part of the package that is missing from this equation and really important to us and the success of the music. It would be dreamier than 50’s Cliff Richard to be able to do this.
