My name is Connor McGregor and I'm a 19 year old gay male living in Brisbane city.

I have a great passion for art and anything of expressive nature. I've been brought up with camera's as my father was the lead photographer of RAVE magazine in the 80's.

Back in 2009 I studied Youth Work at TAFE to discover that just about all gay children believe themselves to be the only one's. That there is no support out there or anything to give them hope. A lot of people still to this day seem to believe that gay's can't love or have the same relationship that a heterosexual couple can have.

So I decided to get a hold of all my old love poems, letters, quotes, lyrics, journal entries and photos that symbolised my feelings as well as photos from back then that I had taken and decided to put them in order from before the relationship up until the very end of the relationship when we were taken apart. You can see my love growing and slowly breaking apart as the pages progress. I believe it would be a very good form of expression and awareness to the gay youth of today. As I was only 14 when I met this boy, 15 when I feel in love and 16 when it all fell apart.

I'm hoping that maybe with this project I could sell hard copies of the book and give 50% of the profit made to LGBT Open Doors Youth Group. Or at the least give the books away for free to LGBT groups around Queensland. Or further depending on the funding I guess.
