My name is Clinton Hayden and I'm an artist based in Melbourne, Victoria. I've recently graduated from RMIT University's Master of Fine Arts (Photography) program in 2011, and have exhibited both locally and internationally with work shown in London, New York and Reykjavic. My work to date deals with intimacy and longing, and the varied states in between.

For my first project of 2012, I'm to creating a photographic artist book from scratch, explore the themes of intimacy and longing by connecting with the viewer with the intimate scale of a hand bound book. I'll be doing everything from image creation, publication design, printing and hand-binding the limited edition of 15. The project will see me utilising the skills developed during the MFA (Photography) program, as well as using skills from my BA (Graphic Investigation).

Once finished, the book will be used as a post-able portfolio to send to select galleries and curators I would like to work with, as well as submitting the publication to the Indie Photobook Library (indiephotobooklibrary.org) and the Weserburg Research Centre for Artist's Publications, with a perfect bound offset-print edition available through my website late in the year.

With your help I can raise my professional profile as an artist through this project. The Pozible funding will go towards the development of the book, from the film and materials right down to the printing and binding.
