DEAD are attempting to record a second LP!

The past year has seen DEAD tour to SE Asia, USA and all across Australia. And as I type this we are packing our bags for our first New Zealand tour. It has been a blast. We have made so many great friends, seen some amazing bands and seen the world the best way possible; via punk shows.
The downside is it has all been very expensive and not left us much time to save up cash for our next album. We have applied for as many government grants as possible but so far not been successful in receiving any. So now we are turning to the community who have supported us so much for some help in funding our next recording. In all honesty we would prefer not to bother you with such matters but we think the incentives we've come up with are pretty good, and worth the price.
The recording/mixing of our next LP at Headgap Studios, Preston and the mastering of it at Chicago Mastering Service will cost about $4,000 all up. 4 days at Headgap, One session at Chicago Mastering. This is what we did for our first album THUNDAAAAAH!
An LP pressing of around 300 copies (seems to be plenty for us) costs about $4,000. But we'll make most of that back eventually via sales of the record.
We are asking for financial support towards these costs. We estimate if we make $2,000 or more we can cover the rest and deliver the album promised to all the supporters. All the money raised from this campaign will go towards recording/mastering costs. If we exceed the costs of the studio bill we will donate any extra cash to worthy charities.
We have more than an album's worth of material ready to record so we will also record a few extra tracks for some split records we have in the pipeline.
We have recorded a live album (recorded at The Old Bar by Nowhere Audio) that is being given to all who pledge their support for this project. You get this straight up, even if the pledges never get processed!
About the project:
It will be like our first album but even better! It'll be the record on your shelf/mp3 player that makes you smile and think "Music sucked before this album came along, we were living in a dark age." It'll be a conversation starter at dinner parties. People will say "Oh you got this?" And you'll say "Yeah i got the exclusive version, I helped fund the recording" And an elevation in social status will be noted.
We don't skimp on quality when it comes to studios, engineers, pressing plants and of course packaging. The final result will be something you'll feel good about having supported. It will be released by our own label WeEmptyRooms and possibly some other killer independent labels. It will feature hand made, hand printed art and packaging as we are inclined to roll that way.
As most people who know this band already know we release our own music, print our own merch and sell it all with no profit margin. We've sold around 400 copies of our first album on LP, Cassette and Digital (Via our own label WeEmptyRooms, Wantage USA, Tenzenmen and Ricecooker). So we know there are people out there who want to hear our music (even if we are a niche kinda band) and we want very much to bring it to them. We don't really want to slow things down. We want to keep releasing music and touring it as far as possible. And with your support we can do this.
We will also host a bake sale/record fair/market in the coming months for anyone who wants to donate but does not have a credit card. Please contact us if you want to be a part of this or contribute anything towards it.

Playing shows and releasing records COSTS US MONEY. Sorry but this is the reality of being in a punk band in Australia (or most countries) for us. People have suggested to us we play shows to fund this recording. It is a nice thought but the truth is we are lucky to break even on the costs of a show. Yes there is money in this industry, it's just not for the bands! So we just wanted to clear that up and not seem like we are being lazy here.
