My name is Loene Carmen and I am a singer songwriter from Sydney Australia. I've self funded the release of 4 critically acclaimed albums so far.

My father Peter Head is an incredible piano player/singer/songwriter. He is resident artiste at a hotel in Sydney's Rocks and has also released a bunch of music, solo, with his bands the Mount Lofty Rangers and Headband and recordings made with his friend Bon Scott of AC/DC fame. He has played everywhere and done everything. Twice.

I performed my first original song with Peter at a New Year's Eve concert at Adelaide Town Hall aged ten, after a decade of determinedly following him round to every gig they'd let me into and falling asleep beneath his piano.

As a duo we have played cowboy songs in Mexican restaurants, jazz and blues in seedy Kings Cross nightclubs and high falutin' fancy ones, and whatever got us through the gig at backyard funerals, wig out weddings and a weird and wonderful variety of other events. I have begged him to play in a multitude of the bands I have formed -  the 12 piece Nashville inspired Honky Tonk Angels, the torchy exotica of Automatic Cherry, the pyschedelic dub of LCE, the duellings keys action of soul group Slow Hand... Peter delivered the goods and more on a couple of tracks on my current album IT WALKS LIKE LOVE and in my lounge room internet variety show Loene Carmen's Parallel Universe. I've sung backing vocals on some of his recordings and designed his album covers. Together we've opened shows for Renee Geyer, Wendy Saddington, Don Walker and other greats.

But .... we have never recorded.

After all this time, it seems to me its high time we made our debut album.

I've gone for various music grants and funding but we seem to fall through the cracks. And we're musicians so we are too broke to fund it ourselves.

I don't want to mess around. I just want to go to a good studio with a beautiful grand piano and gorgeous microphones and just lay it all down old school style over a couple of long, long days.

I want to mix and master it.

Studio and engineer cost about $1000 per day. I think 2 days will do it.

Then another day for mixing at about $750 and another day for mastering will be about $750 also.

That's $3500.

We've got the songs, the chops, the time, the inclination, the audience ... but not the dirty cashola to make it possible.
