Vikram and the Vampire marks the beginning of Michael Futcher and Helen Howard’s directorship of Zen Zen Zo’s Performance Company. Adapted from the award-winning production of The King and the Corpse, and based on a series of fantastical Hindu tales, Vikram and the Vampire is a magical night of comedy, horror and dynamic physical theatre which celebrates the art of storytelling and ensemble playing.

We are a "not for
profit" theatre company. The $3000 raised through Pozible will assist us in

About the Director:
Michael Futcher is one of Queensland’s most acclaimed and respected theatre professionals. Over the last twenty-five years, he has written, directed and acted in over 70 professional theatre productions, collaborating with many of Queensland and Australia’s finest arts practitioners. During that time he has been the recipient of numerous awards, including a Green Room Award for Best Director for his play A Beautiful Life(which also won three other Green Room Awards and two other nominations, including Best Play), a Helpmann Award nomination for his production of The Kursk,eight Matilda Awards and Commendations, a Playlab Award, a Book Nook Award, an AWGIE nomination, and has been short-listed for The Queensland Premier’s Literary Awards on two occasions.
Vikram and the Vampire marks an exciting new direction in the company's journey - and will be new Artistic Director, Michael Futcher's debut production. Your support will assist this exciting company to achieve its aim of presenting the highest quality Independent Theatre.

Can we exceed the goal?
Yes! $3,000 is the absolute minimum and bare bones budget for production costs. The professional cast and crew are already donating a lot of their time and resources towards this production. Every extra dollar raised above the goal will go towards making this production the best it can possibly be, and will also go towards Lighting, Sound and Hire costs.
