I'm a ceramic artist with a penchant for tea-ware. I have worked in Victoria, Australia, and in New Zealand. I currently live on Aotea (Great Barrier Island), off the coast of NZ.
A trip to South Korea & Japan is what I've got planned. The City of MunGyeong, SK, has invited me to participate in their annual Tea Bowl Festival. This entails exhibiting my work, giving a seminar, and delivering a workshop to festival attendees. Following this I have the opportunity to attend a week long workshop in Taku, Japan where Tea Masters and Master Potters will teach me "the Way of Tea".
Tea ware and Tea culture around the world have been of huge interest to me in the last few years, and this is the focus of my ceramic art. I am rapt to have such an opportunity to travel and attend two amazing events that will extend and inspire me. I also look forward to sharing my experience with the Aotea arts community, and the New Zealand ceramics community.
The AsiaNZ Foundation has kicked in some funding towards my travel, and MunGyeong will accommodate me during the festival, but I still need to raise money towards my workshop fees.
Any support would be greatly appreciated (and I've got some pretty nice rewards).
Thank-you.

Thanks to Michaela for taking the great photo.
I can help you plan your trip to beautiful Great Barrier Island. I have got the low-down on travel and accommodation, and I can give you valuable local knowledge on the hot springs, and surfing and fishing spots, and where all the best art can be found!
A sweet little hand-made sweet plate. These are all unique, no 2 the same, so the picture is an example. They are all either stoneware or porcelain, with celedon glazes.
A hand pinched salt dish. Again, all unique, each with a little serving spoon. The picture is an example (see more examples below)
A matched (by the artist) set of salt dish, spoon and plate. Not identical to the picture, but you get the idea.
A fully functional, sculptural tea pot, stamped with the artist's mark. A 2 cup, 3 cup, and a 4 cup version.
A tiny teapot - 1 cup.
