** Update
We have reached our first target on Pozible! This means we have raised the minimum amount we needed to get this project underway and now we can start preparing to take Best We Forget to Brisbane - whoop!

We’re so grateful for all the generous support we’ve received in the campaign so far. Thank you for helping us take Best We Forget to a brand new audience. We’re determined to do you proud.

But there’s no need to stop! In fact, having had such a successful beginning to our campaign we have decided to move the goalposts and give one last push to see if we can reach 100 supporters by July 18 and raise some extra funds to invest in the project.

New Goal: Please help us reach 100 supporters by July 18.

The extra money will help us:
- pay for flights for the three performers and director to get to Brisbane ($1200)
- pay for a Production Manager to help us build the set once we get there ($1000)
- Flyer/Poster printing to spread the word in Brisbane about the show ($650)

Best We Forget is the third work by award-winning theatre company isthisyours? A masterful insight into forgetfulness and our desire not to be forgotten, Best We Forget follows three characters who fight panic as they explore their own fears and fascinations with forgetting.

Incorporating panel discussion, film clip choreography, photo albums, action film, power ballads and audio commentary, Best We Forget challenges the audience to engage in the act of forgetting.

What legacy will you leave behind? Do memories stay the same each time we remember them - or do they change? How can Jason Bourne know seven languages but not his own name? And how much of the show will you remember tomorrow anyway?

Funny and frighteningly truthful Best We Forget will not be forgotten.

What People Have Said About Best We Forget

…a performance that gently and humorously promotes its own survival in the minds of its audience.

I’m not going to be one of those “clever” reviewers that notates the best jokes and moments of the show. Mainly for your benefit, because you’ll really enjoy this show. And I recommend you go. I do. Very much...This meta-theatrical lecture is part confessional, part factual, part philosophical, referential, and a hilarious demonstration of the fragility of cognition. Brilliant concept, brilliant investigation, thoroughly researched, personal, intelligent, funny and beautifully presented and produced...Truly memorable. Truly defiant. Truly entertaining.

Such a topic can delve into the painfully pretentious, or, as in this case, be artfully handled and turn into a thought-provoking, but mostly just damned fun production.

Best We Forget fashions a perfect hour to carry forward into smile and conversation and silent doubt for years to come. Memorable stuff.

The Company

isthisyours? are committed to making engaging and challenging new works that embrace new ideas. They approach serious ideas in a ridiculous manner and ridiculous ideas in a serious manner. Founding members Jude Henshall, Tessa Leong, Louisa Mignone, Nadia Rossi and Ellen Steele formed isthisyours? upon graduation from Flinders University Drama Centre, SA, in 2006. They have created three works. Nathalie Ribout, a new translation of a Philippe Blasband work, presented in 2007; Make Me Honest, Make Me Wedding Cake, the company’s first fully devised work, won the Adelaide Festival Centre inSPACE Development Award at the 2009 Adelaide Fringe; and Best We Forget, presented at the 2010 Adelaide Fringe and most recently in the Tamarama Rocksurfers’ 2012 season at Sydney’s The Old Fitzroy Theatre. For Best We Forget's Brisbane season, isthisyours? are thrilled to be joined by Lydia Nicholson (performer), Andrew Russ (Sound Design), Alistair Watts (Set and Costume Design) and Govin Ruben (Lighting Design).

The Opportunity

isthisyours? has been invited to take Best We Forget to a prestigious Festival in Brisbane in September 2012. This is a wonderful opportunity for us and we are thrilled to bits, but we need your help!

As a fully independent theatre company we are committed to self-funding as much as possible and working hard so our shows may be seen around Australia. We're already part of the way there in terms of fundraising for our Brisbane season but we need some assistance as time is running out.

We need to raise at least another $4200 for expenses such as freighting our set up to Brisbane, hiring lights, publicity for the Brisbane season and insurance to cover us and our audience.

There are a couple of ways you can help. You can make a pledge yourself AND you can help by getting behind us as a fan and helping us promote the project. Every bit will bring us that much closer to our goal, and that much closer to Brisbane!

Short on cash but have some time? Whatever you can afford will mean the world to us! And you can doubly help us out by forwarding the campaign on to your friends and colleagues. Feeling generous? To help us say thank you we have a range of unusual and intriguing rewards in exchange for your dollars.

Support live theatre in Australia and put a smile on our dials...
