Who are we? We are a free community festival whose only wish is to host an authentic community event as welcoming as your best friend's kitchen table and more fun than the first party you went to as a kid!

So please join us in a celebration of everything that makes home what it is – whatever that may be! Whether home is simply the roof you sleep beneath or the people you share it with, Home Festival aims to share with the community a sense of belonging, inclusivity, learning, expression and most importantly, fun!

Home Festival is a free, all-ages event held in the beautiful Raymond Park, just behind the Pineapple Hotel in Kangaroo Point, Brisbane. All of the people involved in organising the festival are doing so voluntarily, with the common goal of creating a meaningful community gathering.

2011 saw the inaugural Home Festival come to life with music, food, free workshops, the Suitcase Rummage, community info stalls and last but definitely not least – a cubby house building area! As you can see from the photos, it was a beautiful day that was cherished by every single person who came.

Why do we need your support? Well simply put – this festival is run by the community for the community! In order to pay for the necessary expenses of putting on such an incredible festival (such as stage hire, production, marquees, licenses, insurance, security, portaloo hire, table hire, hay bails, lighting hire, performers fees, etc) we need funding.

The most common sentiment that was felt in the feedback from last year’s event was that there wasn’t enough of this going on – a free event that brought the community together in a communal ‘backyard’ to share and experience what our neighbours had to offer. We need your help to keep Home Festival free, easily accessible and exciting! And let us tell you – every little bit helps!

Some of the memories from last year that might contribute to your warm and fuzzies:

- Seeing parents and children working together on projects such as building cubby houses and doll houses, as well as just having a dance together in the sunshine.

- Watching local bands and dancers perform in front of enthusiastic crowds that they may never have had a chance to expose themselves to otherwise.

- Meandering between picnic blankets as people chowed down on delicious local food.

- Passing by people as they took in the sculptures and installations hidden beneath and dangling out of the trees.
