END OF FINANCIAL YEAR BOOK FUNDRAISER FOR REMOTE INDIGENOUS KIDS
A picture might be worth a 1000 words but a book can change your life!
BushTV is raising $5000 bucks for 5000 books for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation in June 2012 but we need your help because we only have 30 days to achieve our goal!
As part of developing our Reconciliation Action Plan, BushTV is working voluntarily with the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, helping them raise their profile and increase their donations so they can buy more books for kids and get literacy programs happening in remote communities across Australia.
Our goal is twofold. First, we want to get their Facebook page to at least 3000 fans and second, we also want to raise $5000 bucks by the end of June 2012. But we need YOUR help to spread the word and also chip in whatever you can afford at our fundraising pozible page here.
Can you imagine not being able to read a newspaper, a road sign or directions on a bottle of medication? Sadly, this is a reality faced by many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders living in remote communities today.
The Indigenous Literacy Foundation aims to raise literacy levels and improve the lives and opportunities of Indigenous Australians living in remote and isolated regions. This is done by providing books and literacy resources to Indigenous communities and raising broad community awareness of Indigenous literacy issues.

The theme for the photo comp is "A Picture is Worth a 1000 words" and the prize is automatic entry into an exclusive photo comp with 9 other finalists to battle it out for an all expenses trip away on a photography assignment with BushTV in 2012 for 3 days!
