Hello! I need your help to get me to the United States!

I am Abby Woods, a newly graduated Graphic Designer.

Earlier this year I received the wonderful news that my hard undergrad work had paid off - I had been accepted to the Savannah College of Art and Design to undertake my Masters of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.

I love to learn, and I spent four fantastic undergraduate years working hard and learning some pretty wonderful things about Graphic Design and it’s world. Now its time for me to take the next step in my learning.

SCAD is a vibrant, historic collage, and completing my masters here will not only give me the chance to fill my brain with knowledge, it will also open up a huge amount of opportunities for me in the Graphic Design field that I may not find anywhere else – and I’m pretty keen to grasp the opportunity with both hands!

This is where you come in!

I need your help! I’m completely thrilled by the prospect of travelling, studying, learning and spreading the Aussie, occa love over there, but as an International Student in the States I won’t be able to work. For my Visa approval I need to find a staggering US$51,815 for one years worth of fees and living expenses. SCAD has been lovely and awarded me US$15,000 in scholarships, but that still leaves around $35,000 for me to scrounge up.

There has been some hope that the money would materialise out of thin air, or appear under the couch cushions but I'm fairly sure that was just wishful thinking!! I’m a thrifty little saver, and I work very hard, but even the thriftiest of savers will find it difficult to save $35,000 in six months.I'm not a charity (maybe a charity case!) and you aren't able to declare your pledge to me on your taxes, but I’m hoping that a few generous hearted people out there would be willing to donate whatever they are able to afford to help send me away.

I’ve set my target on Pozible at a conservative $5,000; although I’d feel a little more secure if I could raise more than that. I have been given a chance to do something that not many people get to do and I am grateful to anyone who is willing to help me get where I am going.
