This site has been created to raise funds for Melaka Arts and Performance Festival 2012, which will take place from Friday 21- Sunday 23 September in Melaka, Malaysia.
> All funds will help offset the many costs of staging the festival, such as equipment, permits and accommodation and staff

About the festival
Melaka Arts and Performance Festival (MAPFest) is an innovative contemporary festival, featuring dance, performance art, visual art, film and music. In a short space of time since its inception in 2009, MAPFest has gained a high national, and increasingly international, profile, being recognised for its program of exciting independent arts, collaborations and its use of alternative sites for performance. MAPFest was founded by creative director Tony Yap and producer Andrew Ching, both Melakans themselves. They want to see Melaka's rich history as a centre for meetings and exchange between cultures continue in the present day, and ensure that contemporary arts plays a role in Melaka's revival alongside its heritage-driven tourist industry.
The 2012 festival features artists from Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, France and the Netherlands. You can see the full festival program at the festival website.
