GLIMPSE at fortyfivedownstairs
WOW! We've reached our initial goal! Words cannot begin to express what we are feeling right now. It's incredible to think that we managed to reach this goal, and astonishing that we did it two weeks before our deadline.
The funds raised so far mean that we can now move forward and start making our creative dreams a reality, and we are truly humbled by, and grateful for, all the generosity and support that you have lent us. So...
THANK YOU!!!
But we still have a long road ahead of us... With your continued support, we will have the opportunity to explore different forms and styles of digital projection (and more advanced equipment), and work towards securing the costumes, props and creative support that will best help us tell Glimpse's story. Together, we can create something that will be truly unique and quite breathtaking. Let's show the world what community support for the arts can give life to!
The more support we have, the better show we can deliver, so spread the word and share our campaign with your friends, family, and creative community - the more the merrier!
Thank you!
The Kin Collective.
ABOUT US-
After more than a year working together, Melbourne’s newest performance group The Kin Collective emerges onto the Australian theatre scene with their debut production GLIMPSE. Poised to lead audiences down the rabbit hole, The Kin Collective delves deep beneath the surface to offer a glimpse of what truly makes us human.
But what is a show without a stage? Your generosity will, literally, create our world. We are currently in the process of securing the involvement of a (very well-known!) cartoonist to illustrate our backdrops, which would then be projected live around the actors as part of the performance. To make this happen, we need $4000 to fund our kick-ass ‘set’ and sound design, which would incorporate multiple projectors and specialty lighting to boot.
Inspired by US acting coach Larry Moss, The Kin Collective came into being to produce accessible and engaging works that elicit strong visceral responses from our audiences, and ask the question “what does it mean to be human?” We hope you will join us on this very exciting journey.
Thank you for your generous support.
*PLEASE NOTE - MAJOR SPONSORS ($1000+) are invited to contact The Kin Collective privately to arrange a tax deductible donation. Please email us at- [email protected] *

Our production has been devised through improvisation, and because of the organic way it has come to be, we hope to make our sets as spontaneous as the performances appear on the stage before it. Here is a little bit about Cartoonist Jason Chatfield, who is looking likely to come on board to animate our projected surroundings. We hope!....

Facebook. Twitter. Youtube. iPhones. Skype.
It has never been easier to keep in touch; to stay in the loop; to have your finger on the pulse of the world.
But in this tangle of technology, it is easier than ever for us to turn a blind eye to the fleeting connections we make in our everyday lives
But what would happen if we let those moments blossom and bloom? If a casual glance became a heart-felt conversation, if a chance meeting grew into a life-long relationship?
What if we finally caught a glimpse of the world around us? What would we see? And how hard would we fight to keep it?
Come and catch a glimpse of The Kin Collective.
