Synopsis:

“Sketch & Tonic” is an Australian Television comedy sketch show, written and produced for channel 31.

To summarize the nature of the show, it exhibits the potential comedy and genuine issues involved with the behavior of individuals and how people express themselves differently in a comedic manor.
All sketches are inspired by the writer’s everyday life experiences/ imagination and loosely based upon real life circumstances, and by real life we mean these events really did occur. Sort of…

Throughout the show, an assembled cast of 8 main actors and actresses will reprise their roles in different sketches consisting of action, romance, drama, musicals and horror all compiled with the core genre of comedy.

Length of Series:
Currently as we are in pre-production for the pilot, after the completion and the required response from audiences and channel 31 after the pilot has aired, the production will continue for its intended 6 episode season televised on channel 31 and to be streamed on the internet, on the show’s web site and official Youtube page.
The running time for the show, is approximately 25- 26 minutes, and half an hour in total with commercials

Teamed with funny man James Barrett, the pair have gone to write the series. James is a comedy writer and stand up comedian, attaining laughs in local bars. Although having more experience in theatre stage productions, he is also a member of RMITV (www.rmitv.org) and worked on various television shows to produce quality channel 31 programs.

Why we need funding:

It’s no secret that making a T.V show is quite expensive, despite us being flexible and resourceful with our budget. There are various costs involved when making a show such as Hair/ make up, artists, location costs, props, set equipment and food. That’s right! Therefore the more money we raise, the better the production will be which will help us to achieve excellence in television and an approval for a full season for the show.

Production Status:
Currently Sketch & Tonic are close to the end of the Pre-Production stages with all scripts written, equipment hired, locations set and finalizing for production. Shooting dates are scheduled to start in September 2012.
