I'm Sandy Edgar and I am an Australian visual artist.  I created this project originally to raise funds for a group exhibition in Kuranda that I took part in.

We were kindly given space in The Hidden Echidna Gallery to hold a Pop Up Exhibition in late September for The Pop Up Gallery which is an Artist Run Initiative that I helped found with fellow artist David Goebel earlier this year.  We also invited 3 talented local emerging artists to join us.

I created a lino-cut print as a reward for this campaign so I could raise extra funds for the exhibition.  At the same time I made 3 other prints.  Now that the exhibition is over I've taken advantage of the Pozible Store feature and all four prints are now available for purchase here.  Read about them below...

About the Print:
"Melancholy & Roses"

This is an artwork created to reminisce the days of WWII where heroic men left many a broken heart behind them.  The roses, her closed eyes and the strong print lines are intended to represent the inner strength and beauty of a generation of women in troubled times.

(Edition of 25)

About the Print:
"Suspenders"

This is an artwork created to illustrate a sub-culture of young men who use alternative masculine stereo-types to define themselves while still showing a sensitive side to potential love interests.  The style of this cut is used to define an age group that is past childhood but also on the way to adulthood.

(Edition of 25)

About the Print:
"Meanwhile on Titan"

This is an artwork created to capture the whimsy of mid-20th century Science Fiction that held a more innocent tone and inspired the inspiration of a generation of children.  The expression on the astronaut's face is a reminder that escape into fantasy can be a lonely place to live.

(Edition of 25)

About the Print:
"Sun Hat"

This is an artwork created to depict a quiet moment in the sun of a young woman during the 1920's in Far North Queensland.

 (Edition of 50)
