Hi, I'm Mandi Jarry!
You might have found this page by accident or perhaps you've heard some of my music... Either way, I'd like to tell you, the time has come to release some new music!!! I'm so Excited!!
In 2009 I released my first album, Untied. 11 tracks of love and hard work, It was such an amazing experience and something that I am raring to do again...
Early in 2010, I finished a film clip for the title track of the album with the help of Rusty Gate films. A lot of love, sweat and tears went into my first album and also a lot of hard earned cash! I was lucky enough at the time to be in a position to fund my first album & film clip.
I've been playing piano since I was five, wrote my first song when I was eight, picked up a guitar on my fifteenth birthday and singing ever since... The first album was such a great experience and i've had some amazing feedback, now it's time to dive back in and record a new EP... 6 tracks of all new material. September this year, I'm locked in - it's happening!
This time though, I want You, all my amazing friends, family and supporters to be part of the journey with me. I live a life that I feel so lucky to lead... To be able to make a living at something I love so much, I thought why just release it on my own, why not challenge everyone to get involved and get as excited as me. :)
There are so many great projects being created on sites like these with the help of the people like you, people that can make dreams happen... With your help I'm hoping to record something really special...
So there's lots of ways to contribute. You can pre-pay for the EP while we record, like you've pre-paid your favourite Sydney artists new EP!! ;P Anyone donating more than $50 will get their name mentioned in the artwork of the cd, you're a co-producer! :)
To the right there's a list of all the great REWARDS my friends and I have put together. Anything is appreciated and adds to the minimum we need for the project to go ahead. The more you invest, the bigger and better the rewards. The EP itself, guitar picks, a song dedication at a gig, guitar or songwriting lesson?! What about a gig with the Mandi Jarry Duo for your special occassion?!?
So the plan! We've got four, 4, FOUR weeks, to raise $5000 dollars... And that's the catch, we only get 4 weeks to do it.... 1 Month to raise $5000. If we don't raise the funds, the group project doesn't go ahead and there is no charge to you...
It's a big challenge, but exciting! What do you think?
Here is a breakdown of where the money will go:
• Production, Engineering, Mastering $5200
• Musicians $1000
• Artwork $200
• CD Printing and Reproduction $2000
(The minimum total will be approx $8400... I've saved some already)
The songs are going to have a different feel this time round... I've written songs like these with beautiful raw sounds in mind... I hear mandolins, a banjo, my friend Duncan on the congas! :) There will be strings and atmospheric things and so much more... The recording process is just the most exciting thing a musician can do, nothing makes me smile as much. I can't wait to join my friend Ash Maklad at The Attic Recording Suite and do it all again. I'll be video blogging updates from the studio to share the recording process of my own original songs that I can't wait to share with the world.
