ABOUT THE PLAY mothersmilk
Kitty is an ordinary woman living an extraordinarily complicated life. An early morning visit instigates a series of choices that leads her on a journey to discover a side of her she doesn't want to know. As she struggles with the consequences both within and out of her control Kitty believes one thing. She is everything that no one wants to be.
mothersmilk is an original work written by Joanne Trentini based on her real life experiences.
mothersmilk is such a GREAT story and we want everyone to enjoy it. So we are using Fusion Theatre to create a show that has something for everyone. Fusion theatre is what we love so when you come see our show you will be treated to not only an amazing story but shadow puppetry, design installations and live music by Melbourne band Earthwire. And of course acting!
To bring this work to life we have assembled a brilliant and highly experienced cast that includes Joanne as Kitty, who is joined on stage by Stefan Bramble, Leila Rogers and Anthony Winnick. The cast collectively have worked in film, TV, theatre and the live music scene.

HOW YOUR PLEDGE WILL HELP US
So, where does your hard earned money pledged to us end up? It helps us out in so many ways! We plan on using the funds to build an amazing set including lighting, put together some inspiring costuming, increase our marketing and PR campaigns and all those other things that take place behind the scenes that cost money which will ensure that our production is a success!
As we are fully self-funded up until this point any help that you can offer us will be so wonderfully welcome and highly appreciated and we will be eternally grateful!
ABOUT THE OTHER ONE PRODUCTIONS
mothersmilk is The Other One Productions first independent production. With a strong skill set and focused expertise necessary to deliver within the arts industry, we are a dedicated and highly capable team that have refined our collective skills in alternative highly competitive industries. We consider this is what sets us apart from others. Our team comprises Joanne Trentini, founder and writer, Renee Trentini co-producer, costuming and styling and Kathryn Hooper co-producer and set designer.
Joanne’s years of experience in theatre as an actor in both Sydney and Melbourne ensures that our contacts within the industry remain relevant and viable; Renee’s professional experience in program delivery and project management will guide the production team’s progress whilst Kathryn’s small business experience ensures our financial longevity and viability as well as her working understanding of marketing is key to ensuring a successful show.
We have also bought on board the best possible creatives to ensure our success including Sarah Walker from Sarah Walker Photography, Justin Batchelor from Batchedit and Eleanor Howlett from Sassy Red PR.
Our Pozible campaign comprises one part of our fundraising efforts. We are also direct canvasing local Melbourne businesses to come on board and partner with us in this exciting experience. We have found that whilst there is a lot of hard work which takes dedication and commitment from the whole team, in the end it is well worth our while. We truly believe that the way to engage with a broad audience is to tap into different mediums that attract people from all walks of life for all different sorts of reasons. Fusion theatre is a great way to re-engage those that have been lost to theatre or those that feel they don't have a place as an audience member.
