My name is Micah Chua. I’m a Media and Communications graduate, an intern at Vibewire Youth Inc. and my admission is that I perhaps don’t know as much about climate change as I ought beyond what’s commonly known about the CO2 that gets trapped in our atmosphere and the extremely harmful effects this has on our planet.

So the time has come to wise up and rise up.

Vibewire Youth Inc. are supporting myself and a small team on an initiative to arm ourselves with knowledge and understanding about our environmental plight and to present this information in ways that will engage and inspire young people to take action. Our ultimate goal is to gather enough information and raise enough money to be sent to the UN COP17 Climate Change Summit in Durban, South Africa and engage with the issue on the international level and bring the youth perspective to our international leaders.

But closer to home and closer to now, on the 9th to the 11th of April this year, the National Community Climate Network is holding a Climate Action Summit in Melbourne, Victoria. The opportunity is ripe for some on-the-ground interaction with some of the country’s brightest environmental activists and to find out more about what local youth can do about this global issue.

I will roll up my sleeves and buckle down into some serious investigations asking as many questions, meeting as many people and gathering as many answers as I can so I can present all this information in ways that will turn young heads. But to get there, I need your help.

Your donations will cover basic costs of which I have made an effort to keep to a minimum leaving no margin beyond what is absolutely necessary. Your generosity in the long run will help the project in its aims to cultivate a generation that mobilises youth against climate change.
