Artists: r e a, Waded, Deborah Kelly, Anna Laerkensen, Michele Aboud and The Twilight Girls will bring new and exciting representations of what their interpretation of family is to them.
The artists are creating Queer Family images that will challenge, engage and ............!!!
Our Queer Families are everywhere - this exhibition at the Australian Centre for Photography in Sydney(March - May 2014), hopes to broaden the parameters of what the 'Family' is now in our lives.
Phillipa Playford, cross-media artist will be researching, producing and designing the Education Kit based on the artist's work in the exhibition, she will also be giving some lectures during the exhibtion.
We need $10,000 to ensure that schools, teachers, GLBTIQ and the wider community have a greater insight into what the exhibition is about, with the Education Kit & the Catalogue......SO....


GREAT NEWS WE HAVE HIT TARGET....... HOWEVER, WE STILL NEED FUNDS FOR THE CATALOGUE SO PLEASE K E E P SUPPORTING OUR PROJECT..... .....!!!!

We are still going until 7 December, AND we're happy to get more money so that we can also do the Catalogue!!!! ...... So MERRY XMESS UNTIL March- May 2014 when the Exhibition will be on at THE Australian Centre for Photography.....

Our budget breakdown goes like this for the research, development & production of the EDUCATION KIT, which is part of the We Are Family Exhibition in 2014.
HAVING reached the Education Kit Funds we are now aiming for the

Catalogue Costs.......... which estimates at another $5,000

I've lived with the challenge of dealing with setbacks all my life, however, this Exhibition, Education Kit and Monograph are investments in our futures.
A better future for the GLBTIQ Families that I know and love.
We will continue to thrive, deal with homophobia and celebrate our lives no matter what. We are so privileged in Australia, if we can share our knowledge with other countries through visual languages, education kits and support then we will ultimately make our society better.
