What if the Northcote Town Hall was a blank canvas that YOU could paint with a virtual brush? The public is invited to create designs using simple tools found at http://www.facade.net.au These designs will be projected onto the Northcote Town Hall 15 June - 24 June 2012. The project is unique in that it allows the public access to large scale projections through custom software. The public interacts with a simple tool available at the website to create a design that is projected back onto the facade. I have watched 6 year old children create projection works through this simple tool and then observed them at the projection site itself as their eyes light up in amazement as they see THEIR design up on the a giant facade. I am seeking a small amount of funding to assist with some small operational costs but primarily to publicize the project.
The project was run last year and engaged the residents of a large housing estate.
