What does depression look like? What does depression feel like? When you're stuck in the middle of it, is there anything that actually helps?

Kinds of Blue is a collection of short, original comics by 14 young Australians, who hail mainly from Sydney and Brisbane. In this anthology, they chronicle their close encounters and experiences with depression, capturing snapshots of what depression is like in order to illuminate what is often unexpressed and help fellow sufferers know they are not alone.

Now that the Pozible campaign is over, where can I get this book?

If you like Kinds of Blue, please consider supporting the creators by purchasing a copy through our website. It is available both in print and electronically.

Why donate?

We would like to raise A$5900 to print and launch this book. We are currently aiming to print 500 copies, however, if the interest is there, we will print more.

To reach our goal, we just need around 200 pre-orders of the print book, which we will send to you anywhere in the world for free for a donation of $30 or more. If you like what you've read, please support us by contributing to our campaign—either by logging in using your Facebook account or signing up with Pozible.

Those willing to contribute $100 will receive a copy of the print book along with the option to receive an A4 black and white sketch from either

• Tim Bywater (artist on “The black dog must die”)
• Fiona Darwin (artist on "The suit")
• Kathleen Jennings (artist on “Nihilo” and “Knitting therapy”)
• Jemima Trappel (artist on “A friend in need”)
• Paul Wong Pan (artist on “The real you”).

The subject matter and timing of the sketch will be negotiated between donor and artist.

Update 15/06/11: Tim, Jemima, Kathleen and Paul's sketches have already been snapped up!

Furthermore, if someone is willing to contribute $500, that person will receive a copy of the print book along with the original artwork of the cover by acclaimed artist Melanie Boreham.

Update 18/06/11: We made it! But do we still need your help? Read on ...

It didn't look like the greatest Friday night in history—all three of us at our respective homes, feverishly clicking reload on browsers and smartphones.

Except that at about 10pm, a few more preorders rolled in all at once, and with that, we were over the line. We'd raised $6005 in less than two and half days time. Our book—your book—is going to be printed.

But we just wanted to answer one simple question: do we still need your support?

The simple answer is yes! The more pledges we get, the easier it will be to make it happen. The target was the least that we needed to raise to make this happen. Every dollar further will go towards getting this book out. And the more preorders we receive, the more copies that we'll be able to print and send out.
