I've previously self-produced and independently released two EPs, as well as touring nationally around Australia, the UK and New Zealand. About two years ago I decided that an album would be the next logical step if I really wanted to develop my skills as a singer/songwriter and advance my career. Recording an album has been a dream of mine ever since and I've been absolutely determined to cross it off the bucket list no matter what it takes.



I came up with the idea of releasing a new song every month in 2013 when I was in the shower one sunny afternoon in September last year, while I was thinking about recording demos of some new songs so that I could pitch them to potential producers of my debut album. In less than two months I had assembled a new band comprised of some of Australia's most sought-after session musicians including Peter Marin (Passenger, Bertie Blackman) and Joshua Jones (Dan Sultan, Gossling) & we had tracked nine new songs in the studio. Engineer Andrew Crosbie and I then chipped away at keyboard and vocal overdubs throughout the year, with various guest artists dropping by the studio to lend a helping hand, including Kylie Auldist (The Bamboos), 2013 Logie Award nominee Ashleigh Cummings and Kieran & Ari from The Cat Empire horn section.

I have been overwhelmed with the response to '12 Songs, 12 Months'. My tracks have received primetime national airplay on BBC 6Music (UK) as well as multiple plays on Australian digital radio station triple j Unearthed. My music has also been featured on a number of websites, blogs and in various newspapers/magazines around the country and downloaded in over 25 countries.

I constantly push myself to try and create unique and original keyboard-driven music, while drawing on influences from a diverse range of artists including The Beatles, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Rolling Stones, Elliott Smith, Radiohead, Fela Kuti, David Bowie, Dirty Projectors, Prince, Queens of the Stone Age, The Roots and Booker T. & The MG's.
