THE FILM
One of the most controversial Australian artists of the 80’s, avant-garde, poet and dramaturge, Christopher Barnett turned the literary and theatre worlds on their heads, and then abruptly left for France where he has lived for the past 20 years and where he has won many followers and admirers including the current prime minister.
Christopher Barnett's health has been on the decline. We saw an urgent need to go immediately to France and start making a documentary that rediscovers the work of this significant Australian, giving him his due recognition as one of our great artists. With project development funds from Screen Australia, South Australian Film Corporation and Screen NSW, we started shooting in 2010. In 2011 we attached Les Film Du Balibari as a coproducer, who brought French finance and a French broadcaster on board to assist our return to France to finish shooting. However, we need to raise the funds to shoot and edit the Australian content. We are asking your support to help us reach our target of $25K. We're so close but only with your support we can make this happen!

Christopher Barnett est connu en Australie, comme l'un de nos poètes les plus novateurs et les plus controversies des années quarte-vingts et un dramaturge qui a eu un impact énorme sur le théâtre et de la poésie avant-garde.
Beaucoup de gens pensent qu'il est un de nos écrivains vivants les plus importants. Peu de gens en Australie connais le travail incroyable que Christopher fait dans la laboratoire du recherche théâtral LE DERNIER SPECTATEUR à Nantes, avec son collaborateur proche Stéphane Anizon.
Ironiquement en France très peu de gens savent Christopher comme écrivain, mais plutôt comme un médiateur social qui utilise son art de travailler avec les plus démunis et marginalise du societe. On veut que les gens sachent toute l'histoire de Christopher Barnett qu’il est et l'importance du role qu'il a joué sur de nombreuses vies à la fois en Australie et en France. Il reste deux semaines pour augmenter notre financement pour finir le film. On a besoin de votre soutien pour finir le documentaire.

du film These Heathen Dreams de Anne Tsoulis est en bonne voie de realisation. Nous avons reçu le soutien de la chaine N7TV et de la Région des Pays de la Loire, ce qui nous permettra d’accueillir la réalisatrice pour le tournage et une partie du montage du film en 2013. Cependant, pour amener le projet sur vos écrans, il nous faut encore faire un petit bout de chemin, et lever $25 000 Australien. Allez, on convertit pour vous: 20 000 euros!

Christopher Barnett Furkan Poem Pt 1 Nantes June 2012when they came/for you elegies/of resistance was inspired by the killing of Furkhan Dogan along with 8 other peace activists onboard the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara on 31 May 2010 in international waters of the Mediterranean Sea. They were part of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla" of activists sailing to Gaza.
