The Beaufort Street Network is a not-for-profit community organisation for people who love one of Perth’s most unique café and retail strips – Beaufort Street in Mt Lawley/Highgate.

The Network brings together local residents and retailers, who want to make Beaufort Street a better place to work, live and play. The Beaufort Street Network's primary focus is placemaking - enhancing the sense of community and identity by fostering the local creative community, investing and promoting public and mural art and hosting the Beaufort Street Festival.

This project is about putting more public art on Beaufort Street - to encourage interesting and vibrant spaces in which pedestrians can engage and interact with. This is the first time the Network has sought to publicly seek outside donations for a new art work on Beaufort Street.

The proposed piece is complete - Sandy Bliim's work Clytie. The 2.5 m high doll's head is made of welded steel and finished in instant rust paint. The idea for the sculpture comes from childhood memories and how we never really lose a lot of those concepts. This stunning piece would be proposed to be located on the corner of Harold and Beaufort Street.

The Beaufort Street Network has a strong record of project delivery - having now overseen the Beaufort Street Festival for the past three years. The Network will provide $10,000 in funding to purchase this work, with $5000 raised from Pozible!
