Jazzab is a six piece ensemble exploring new musical territory at the intersection of Persian traditional music and Jazz. Featuring both Iranian classically-trained musicians and jazz-trained musicians from Brisbane, we combine each member's unique influences and input into a distinctive new musical whole - largely featuring original compositions, as well as traditional melodies rendered through the lens of Jazzab's musical vision. After a year and a half of composing, developing and rehearsing material, Jazzab is getting ready to record a high quality album and we need your help.

The funds we raise will go directly towards funding the recording – tracking, mixing, mastering and pressing. At the end of the project we we have a finished album ready for release.

After looking into each step, we anticipate the following costs:

Recording – $2500

Mixing – $900

Mastering – $900

Pressing – $1200

Total – $5500

Making an album is a challenging undertaking. We have already been working hard composing, arranging and rehearsing a brand new body of work that is now ready to be recorded. After a long time working together, we have developed a strong rapport as an ensemble, and a vision for our music that we want to share with the world. We have made plans for each stage of the recording process, and are continually refining our goals in order to present the best music we can. We are ready to meet all challenges, but there are considerable financial obstacles to recording and sharing our music. Here, we hope to find support from those who enjoy our music, and who can contribute to realising our vision.
