Dick’s Clinic is an indie comedy feature about everyday folks, in an everyday suburb, with slightly more peculiar than everyday problems.

Like Dick himself, Dick’s Clinic is big on heart, big on laughs, but a battler on funds. Written by Johnny Flynn, directed by Patrick Flynn, and produced by both with John Fairhurst; Dick’s Clinic is in a similiar position to most of Dick’s clients, ie in need of help. But in the form of some extra funds for post-production.

Having been shot in November last year, we’ve finished the picture edit. We’re now needing funds for dialogue editing, sound design, foley and colour grading of the vision. Already taking into account mate’s rates, we’re looking at a bill of around $25,000. $15,000 of which we're hoping to raise via Pozible.

SYNOPSIS

Meet Dick, 32, single, newly unemployed, and really just nothing happening on either front. He's been in therapy for two years where he's finally starting to open up, when bang!! His therapist, Dr Schnell, has a mental breakdown, leaving Dick to fend for himself.

Feeling cheated and with no one to talk to, Dick's decides that if his shrink's in the nuthouse then there's no reason he why can't start his own practice. So he does... in the garage.

But Dick’s best friend and housemate, Reece, who had been posing as a blind beggar, decides to reinvent himself as a spiritual healer in rival response.

Despite the direct competition, and Reece’s deliberate attempts at sabotage, Dick’s Clinic thrives. Dirt cheap mental health proves to be an unexpected hit to the bottom feeders of suburban Melbourne. Dick soon finds himself dealing with a clientele whose problems not only test his skill as a therapist, but also his patience. And amid the disfunction of Dick's chosen course, he begins to find a sense of compassion and an ability to love again.

Dick's Clinic is the story of a simple bloke trying to change his luck... and maybe make a buck.

As stated above, the funds will be used to pay for the professional sound editing and design, foley and colour grading. Which to get it done, and done well, ain't cheap. We’re hoping to raise $15,000plus via Pozible, and we hope you can help. Below is a close approximate of the funds required to finish the film (based on quotes received):

The obvious one being unable to raise the funds we require. It doesn't spell the end for the film, but it does slow things down significantly, and could compromise quality. Which ain’t good.
