Hi! This is Mabel and Ivy! Welcome to our Pozible page! We are Charm of Finches and we're a sister duo. We are aged 14 and 11.
We're very excited to be working on our debut EP!

We've been singing together all our lives, harmonising to a toy piano about the travelling guinea pig, recording pretty ditties on our mum's phone and singing it up at bath time. We started busking the streets of inner north Melbourne with our friend Bel when we were 11 and 8 as "The Highway Sisters", getting gigs at rallies and benefits singing as an acapella trio.

Then Mabel picked up the guitar and started writing her own songs, Ivy added harmonies and a sister duo was born. Charm of Finches.

Our EP will very much represent how we sound live, capturing the energy of our intuitive sister dynamic. Besides guitar and vocal harmonies, we will be adding cello (Mabel) and glockenspiel (Ivy). There will be 6 original songs, about journeys imagined and real, through the landscapes of the heart and of the imagination.

We are blessed to have renowned harpist and composer Michael Johnson supporting us, producing and mentoring our project, and most of our recording is already complete (recorded at Emotion Studios with sound engineer Evripedes Evripidou). Soon we'll be returning to The Aviary in Abbotsford for the finishing touches (we recorded there last year after winning the recording time in the Battle of the Bands). We will then get our EP mastered (a process all professionally recorded albums go through, in order to make all the levels even and ready for radio/media play, and replication) and it will be ready! We have saved our busking money donated by the good folk of Fairfield, Melbourne, to put towards a beautiful EP launch.

It has been our dream to record our songs and be able to send them out like little precious boats into the world.
We are so grateful to the many people who have helped and encouraged us thus far on our journey. We invite you to be part of this too by supporting our project here on Pozible.

Having a CD will help us promote our music more widely. We would love to play at festivals and all over Australia and overseas, and this EP is an important step in that process.

Please help us bring our music to the world! We need to reach our target or we don't get anything- Pozible is an all or nothing model. We need your help so we can pay for the printing and pressing of the CDs and the final mastering stage. We're adding in the 5% Pozible fee and postage costs.

Any extra funds will be used to hire a beautiful venue for our EP launch later in the year, hiring extra musicians to join us on stage, posters and touring! So please, if we've already reached our goal, don't stop pledging! You will be supporting our ongoing musical adventures!

We have already learnt so much on this recording journey! We've seen how the pressures of time and money can potentially affect the creative process. We keep reminding ourselves to enjoy every step and take our time. Also, to sing our hearts out and trust that the soul of our music is the most important thing.
If we don't happen to reach our target, you can be sure we will be singing our hearts out on the streets until we can!
