Taking photographs in Tasmania's stunning natural landscapes is a great passion for me, so I feel very fortunate to be granted an Artist in Residence at Mountain Sea Arts on Flinders Island (see
www.mountainseas.com.au). During Spring 2014, I will spend 23 days exploring the island, meeting the locals and collecting as many images as I can of this amazing place. I hope to take macro, night time and other landscape images of the sights and delights that I witness. While I am there, I will be presenting several workshops in Creative Arts Therapy, exploring what it means to live on Flinders Island. As an additional gift for island residents, visitors and the general public, I plan to present the photographs from the residency in a small book. This is very exciting for me, as it will be my first book and my first time on Flinders. In order to make this all happen, I am calling on your generous assistance. Please donate whatever funds you can and share this campaign with your networks. Thank you!!!

The funds raised for this project will be distributed in the following ways (this estimate includes the additional amount provided by Crowbar if my Pozible target is reached):
$514 for accommodation at Mountain Sea Arts (at $150 per week)
$1,150 for car hire at Flinders Island Car Rentals (at a reduced rate of $50 per day)
$362 for return flights on Sharp Airlines
$2,000 for book publication costs
$1,000 for a graphic designer to do the book layout
$200 in Pozible fees
Any funds raised over and above the target will be used towards holding an exhibition of photographs taken during the residency.
I will also by contributing my own funds for costs such as: camera equipment, fuel, food, internet and phone use, reference materials, outdoor equipment and other (such as activities on the island).
I am looking forward to the challenge of exploring the island and gathering enough images for the book. Further challenges will involve managing the funds for the design and publication of the book without blowing the budget.
