The Metalithic is a website dedicated to heavy metal with news, reviews and interviews with the biggest bands and people from the metal scene from around the globe... but we do not stop there, heavy metal has it's unknowns, the bands that keep the whole scene together.  They are the ones who play the little gigs in small pubs around the globe, they work hard and they don't get the recognition they deserve, that's where we come in, we love to help out the little guy as well as the big guys because there is a mantra that we go by at The Metalithic which is "Metal is Metal, regardless of who made it or where it comes from if it's done right it's all good" which is something that we live by.  

We are a small group of like minded individuals that live and breathe heavy metal and we love to share our affinity for the mineral music with others. we would really love to improve what we already have and make The Metalithic a place where the little unknown bands can come and have their albums reviewed and find bookers, agents, venues, a place to sell their wares and everything they would need to get a good start in the biz.

If we're successful in gaining funding we'll be using that to pay a professional to overhaul the site to make it more free flowing and add a couple of new sections such as a merch section so we can sell our site merch so that we can fund the site.  After talking with a few different web design companies have come up with a figure of about $4000 - $6000 hopefully on the cheaper side of that spread.  

We also want to set up a distributor where small independant bands that have written an album or have some merch can sell their goods to us and we can help to get their names out there and help to fund their next project,  we'll be putting about $1000 into the distributor so that should give us a good selection of albums from a good selection of bands.

Also a forum where musicians can collaborate to work on projects and get together with other like minded people to discuss ideas.  We'll also be adding a list of promoters, venues, recording studios, record labels and every little thing that will help the bands out so that if they are looking to tour or record albums or even get signed to a label can find the right places to send their work and also where they can go to get a good start in the business.

We're also looking to advertise the website via online ads and social media so that people can find us more easily.   we'll be looking to spend about $500 on web advertising.

We would also like to add a few more permanent staff members to the website so that it's not the same 3 people doing everything, with more people it would keep the site and articles fresh and we would have the time to give the music the attention it deserves.  At this stage the extra people would be paid per article and if we have some more dedicated people we might hire someone permanently should we be able to pay them in to the future.  At this stage we'll just be putting $500 in to that and we'll see how we go from there.

Any money left over or any money over the campaign goal we'll be putting in to our merchandise and our distribution, the more money we raise the more money we can spend on albums or merchandise from independent bands to keep them sustained and hungry so they continue making more music for us all to consume.

Basically the goal is to have something where musicians can go to find what they need to get a good start in the music business, with all the contacts they could possibly need and a place where, if they have been as far as to write an album they can have it reviewed and have any upcoming shows advertised for all to see, and also somewhere that the fans can go and get all the latest news, read interesting articles, read up on their favourite artists and upcoming albums. The Metalithic would be a one stop shop for metal heads around the globe whether you're in a band or just a fan.  

I think the one main problem for us would be getting traffic to the site so that's why with our funding a portion will go towards advertising the site so that our name can reach as many people from around the world as possible.    Also with so much metal out there one of the biggest issues for us would be giving the music the attention it deserves, so we'll be adding some more staff so we can keep up with all of the music we get sent.  other than that this project is already a work in progress, it just needs a little push to get us to where we want to go.
