RATE YOUR RENTAL - Help us build the Renting Game Changer!
Lets face it...for far too long tenants have been at the mercy of lousy landlords and dodgy real estate agents

www.tripadvisor.com, Rate your Rental.com.au will both rate your rental property to help in the search for a decent home, and save you and thousands of other tenants valuable time, money, and endless frustration
We are the Tenants Union of Victoria and think that it'll start to tip the balance of power back towards tenants....Hey, its the game changer we've been waiting for!
Rate your Rental will cover (to be confirmed):
- 5 star rating of property - for example: unliveable, poor, average, very good, paradise)
- Specific ratings - for example: Things hidden at an inspection, Level of maintenance, Pet-friendly, Noisy environment, Availability of a garden, Off-street parking access, Proximity to public transport, Outstanding property repairs, Standard of fixtures and fittings, Heating and air-conditioning, Energy efficiency of the property, etc
Can you imagine the benefit of checking past tenant ratings on your property BEFORE you've signed the lease.....to find out that your dream rental has a 7 year history of horrible neighbors (fighting pitbull breeders), ongoing mould in the bedrooms, electricity bills much higher than the average, and that your new home is structurally unsound and sinking! btw, these goodies weren't visible or mentioned at your inspection
We really now need you to help us to kick start Rate your Rental.com.au
All pledges will be used to develop the RateyourRental.com.au website, which has been quoted at $30k by a web developer. Any extra donations over this amount will be directed toward site management/maintenance, moderation, national expansion, etc
Quote summary follows:
Design and Development ($30,000) including: design and usability, System setup - framework, html, css conversion, Property Listing submission and rating (address, map, images, comments etc), Testing and Refinements (UAT)
Given there are over 400,000 tenants in Victoria, the main issue we expect is the sheer volume of people wanting to review the property they are about to lease - so we'll need to build the reviews quickly...but properly. We'll also undertake research among tenants to make sure we've got the right criteria for rating properties etc, prior to developing the site.
