The Queer Film Collective are a group of film students dedicated in bringing more queer stories to Australian screens. To kick off our collective we plan to make three short films for our final graduation project. 

‘Run Away With Me’ - Romantic Drama Directed by Brodie Pyke
In the midst of Coastal Australia, Anthony and David face homophobia from their family and community. They want to runaway together, but Anthony is afraid to leave his family and friends behind.

‘Count The Ways’ - Romantic Comedy Directed by Leah Pellinkhof
Rosaline decides tonight is the night to reveal her love to her best friend Alexa, but how will she do it? What will she say? We enter her mind as she pictures her self as a film noir femme fatal, a Shakespearian lover, a mime artist, a zombie, a super hero and more stars from her favourite movie genres. What film style will inspire her to reveal her true love?

‘September’ - Experimental/Impressionistic Directed by Tara O’Connell
September is a visually driven  piece that tells it’s story more through imagery and behaviour. It centres around the theme of grief through the eyes of a father still dealing with the unexpected death of his eldest daughter. It's told from the perspective of his youngest daughter through voiceover.

We hope these films will be the first of many from the Queer Film Collective. We plan to continue showcasing emerging queer film makers, actors and other creative artists as well as stories that shine a spotlight on the issues facing LGBTI people, their friends and families.

The money raised will go a long way in helping us create these short films and we want to be open and honest about how we plan to use these funds. Below is the budget breakdown for our three short films combined. With the help of this money, it means that we will be able to produce higher quality films for your viewing.

$500 = Catering

$400 = Makeup & costume 
$400 = Set design & props
$300 = Marketing & publicity
$200 = Actors travel & allowance
$200 = Venue hire 
$200 = Pozible fees and rewards 
$200 = Entry to festivals
$100 = Contingency

Since we are planning on entering our short films to festivals, those of you who have chosen the $30+ rewards will be receiving your digital downloads and DVD's after our festival run. The reason being, film festival entry requirements not allowing the films entered to be publicly screened/viewed.
