Film-making is a very expensive form of story-telling and artistic expression. The bulk of your pledges will be channeled into the Production costs, as seen in the graph above.

PRODUCTION costs include: crew, casting, cinematography, locations, set designs, costumes, hair and make-up, catering, transport, equipment hire, accommodation, and insurance.

POST-PRODUCTION costs include: editing, music, sound design, sound track mixing, mastering, visual FX, titles, colour grade, and output and format delivery.

MARKETING & DISTRIBUTION costs include: media, promotion & publicity campaign strategy and implementation, film screenings, festival entry, DVD pressing and cover art. 

PRE-PRODUCTION costs include: writing, research, rehearsals, casting, website, graphic design, Poster and visual assists, internet content, storyboards, production planning and scheduling, office set up, production design, crew recruitment.

5.1 Surround Sound Mix: Surround sound is a technique for enriching the sound reproduction quality of an audio source with additional audio channels and is the most commonly used layout in cinemas.



Explanation

The reason we have divided the Budget into 4 different Target Points is because Pozible is an all or nothing crowd-funding platform. That means if we do not achieve our Target set of $23,000 then we will not get any monies at all. However for our 10 min film $23K only covers the cost of Production and we feel confident we can raise at least this much.

As this is the first time we have attempted a crowd funding campaign and the fact that this type of community endeavor is new to most of us, it is an experiment. So as long as we make our first Target of $23,000 we will be shooting this film. Of course we hope to reach our Super Stretch Target of $49,000, but if we fall somewhere in between that and the $23K, then we will still be finishing this 10 min film. We may not be able to afford 5.1 mix; and we may not be able to enter as many Festivals as we have planned; and we may have to do some artistic contra deals to get the Post-Production all completed; and all this process may be extended out and take a bit longer than hoped.

Completing any film is the creation of a hand-made-object and in our industrialised world this is truly a rare thing. So the monies raised through this Pozible crowd-funding endeavour are totally integral and significant to the final product. Whatever the scenario we will finish this film and it will be a great film, one that we can all enjoy watching and be proud to have each played our part  in the film making and screen story telling process.

As independent film-makers, this is very much a community-based project. Everyone on the team is volunteering their time, skills and resources.

Our goal is clear - we want to make a high quality film that appeals to a global audience.
