Noted is Canberra's first ever experimental festival of words. An offshoot of the You Are Here Festival, Noted will have its inaugural year in 2015 (March 20-22). It's a chance for writers, readers, publishers, the undefined and the interested to participate in the rejigging of the writers festival format.

With over 20 events over three days, Noted will include a literary bar hop, multi-art collaborations, online interactions, unpredictable live events and formative workshops. Noted will be the reason you put down your books, pens and devices and the reason you pick them back up again. Come and get Noted. March 20-22, 2015.

EVENTS

Noted will consist of three program streams:
Notice (live events)
Notification (digital events)
Take Note (professional development events).

Live events will feature panels, story telling and other performances, while the digital stream offers a variety of interactive options for participation; finally, the professional development series is aimed at encouraging and supporting budding writers.

We have the artists. We have a program. What we don't have is money (NO, REALLY. WE HAVE ZERO FUNDING. NOT A LIE).

That's where you come in.

To help us support our wonderful writers, performers and publishers (and to stop us from going to writers hell, where there are no consonants), we're asking for your help to cover artist fees.

The artist fees are our major cash expense ($2,550). We'll put the rest of the Pozible money towards purchasing insurance, covering website hosting and signage.

This is supplemented by in-kind support from our producers* and You Are Here. The breakdown:
Festival production and management: $10,000*
Venue hire support: $2,000
All web and graphic design work: $2,500
Technical equipment and support: $1,000
Festival documentation support: $1,000
Total in-kind support value: $16,500

(*All producers are donating their time and skills to run this inaugural festival.)

One of our main challenges is shaking off the stigma that nothing happens in Canberra and that writers festivals are stuffy and formulaic.
