The Social Studio: Fashion, Food, Art & Community is a 250-page colourful book that celebrates Melbourne's multicultural community of artists, foodies and fashionistas through the lens of The Social Studio, a vibrant community enterprise in Collingwood.

An awesome team of volunteers have come together to produce the book, including brothers Hudson and Morgan Brown who undertook the long and complex journey of interviewing and photographing the many people included in the book, Ella Scott who provided invaluable editorial assistance and designer Anya Trybala who mastered the beautiful layout.

The book includes a mix of artworks, fashion photography, food, interviews and portraits of more than 60 of Melbourne’s most dynamic artists, designers, stylists and musicians. By showcasing the diverse array of talented and creative people involved, the book also documents the creation and evolution of the Studio since it began its journey in 2009, and charts its impact on Melbourne’s artistic and cultural landscape.

The book will be published by Melbourne Books and launched at the Immigration Museum. Further support has been provided by Image Science who have offered a 25% discount on all photographic processing and scanning required for the book. About The Social Studio

The Studio is a fashion label, digital printing studio, shop and café that creates awareness, transforms public perceptions and generates employment and educational pathways for new migrant communities. Through fashion, food, art and community the Studio unites distinct cultures in a celebration of knowledge, skill and diversity.

We have been working on the book for over a year, and it's now time to print!!!

The book will be published by Melbourne Books and distributed through bookstores around Australia. However, in order to print 1000 copies of the book, which includes 250 pages of colour photographs and artworks, the bare minimum we need to raise is $17,500.

$1,500 will cover pre-press layout and graphic design costs
$3,500 will cover the photographic costs for the book
$12,500 will cover the printing costs for the book

If we can exceed the target, we will use any extra funds to print additional copies of the book and distribute Australia wide.
